This Week at WMES
Week of January 22-26, 2024

Dear WMES families:

• Our January can be found here.  
   

• Staff from Georges P Vanier will be here on Tuesday morning to meet with our Grade 5 students.  Grade 5 families can expect more information from GPV to come home after the meeting on Tuesday.

This week is Literacy Week at WMES!  Family Literacy Day is January 27th. 
See attachment for more details. 

• Monday-  “Poem in my Pocket” Day (Share your favorite poem with us today).  We’ll also be doing flashlight reading in gym.  We have some flashlights - but you can bring your own if you have one).
• Tuesday- “Read my shirt” day
• Wednesday-  Bring your favorite book to share with a friend today.  More Flashlight reading in the gym.
• Thursday-  Thankful Thursday - We are going to write positive notes to share with our School Community today!
• Friday -  It’s Comfy/ Cozy Reading Day today.  Wear your comfy clothes today and maybe bring a stuffy or blanket for some cozy reading time today.  (PJ’s, or whatever you feel comfiest in)

February 7 - 4/5S trip to Glass Lab
February 8 - 5vS trip to Glass Lab
February 8 - PTC / SAC meetings
February 8th - 6pm Meeting at Georges P Vanier Junior High for Grade 5 families whose students will be transitioning to GPV in September.
A tour of the Grade 6 modular space will take place following the meeting at approximately 7pm.
